It’s been a rough week

Big losses come in three’s just ask Hospice workers.   Fortunately, at the poor person’s country club where I swim there is a Hospice nurse and writer friend we get to visit with while exercising.    She understood exactly what I was saying that there had been three major deaths.   Maybe there will be a little break?   I doubt it though… as we get more mature these passings happen more frequently.   While out yesterday we ran into a couple we have known for years.   I hugged my female friend and said you have had 2 big losses.   Then we discovered the third…her husband’s mother had just died.    There they sat in complete understanding about how life comes and goes in a seeming blink of an eye.   These elders were all ready to go and were able to acknowledge they had lived a rich life and it was time to leave this earthly existence.   In our very sad world this is not always the case….in many places there are many being taken in what seems to be such cruel and unnecessary ways….war and famine, gun violence to name a few.   I hope that I can honor our friends passing and not be overwhelmed by the next bad thing to happen.   God Bless Deanne and her family left behind.   We didn’t even know how ill she was as she was living in Colorado.   She was a private person but our friendship was deep.   I am so glad I was able to find a picture and note she had shared with me in 2007…a moment in time but we are all connected on some deeper level in this suffering.  Ohm Mani Padme Hum as she moves through the bardos.
